Bromsgrove 265-6 (15pts)
Sutton Coldfield 170-7 (6pts)
Match drawn
BROMSGROVE managed to put behind them the disappointment of their last two games by picking up a winning draw in Birmingham and District League Division One.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat, Bromsgrove rallied thanks to a magnificent century from Jayden Levitt.
Jordon Rose (4) went early on and Omar Ali was joined by Levitt.
The pair set about what was a modest bowling attack and scored runs at ease.
Omar eventually went LBW to Richard Norgrove for 49, to be replaced by Valeed Butt who initially struggled before he too found the Sutton bowling attack to his liking.
Levitt was in commanding form punishing any poor delivery in a chanceless innings.
He reached his 50 with a glided late cut to the third man boundary before continuing his way to a well-deserved 100.
Levitt was also involved in three run outs, starting with Butt whom he called for a quick single after hitting the ball straight to cover.
Butt had reached 39, his highest score of the season.
Tom Green was the second run out victim, before Lyndon Jones (19) fell trying to make a second run to give Levitt his century.
As it was, Levitt quickly went past his 100 with a trademark straight drive.
This was another welcome return to form from a young man who has at times this season failed to convert good starts into big knocks.
Dilawar Orakzai joined him to make the most of the last few overs, with Sutton's bowlers and fielders fading in the heat.
Dilawar made an entertaining 25 off seven deliveries, while Levitt remained unbeaten on 119.
Sutton went out after tea with survival in mind, and Asif and Omar Ali both beat the openers' bats continually, finding edges that either fell short of the slip cordon or flew through for a four.
Omar eventually struck thanks to a well judged catch by Green at mid-on to dismiss Daniel Stevens for 21.
Asif (1-44) will feel that his final figures were not a true reflection on his performance.
He beat Sam Irvine for pace to trap him LBW after seeing captain Mark Evenson (2-6) drop him for him a routine chance at slip.
Spinners Dilawar (3-55) and Jones (0-30) were introduced, and they too found bowling frustrating, with Sutton's batsmen digging in to force a draw.
Bromsgrove travel to Harborne in the league this Saturday.
