A LAY-BY was closed for two days during the recording of a new film about a down on his luck burger van man who has fallen on hard times.
Filming for the kick-starter funded short film project, Burger Van Man, took place at a lay-by in Hanbury on Thursday, February 15 and and Friday, February 16.
The film’s cast includes comedians Nick Helm and Mark Silcox. The film is set to be entered into a number of film festivals, hoping to draw attention to Worcestershire.
The filming took place in the lay-by just beyond Harris Brush Factory in Stoke Prior near Bromsgrove as cones and signs blocked the entrance for two days.
A spokesperson for Worcestershire County Council said: "Burger Van Man follows Carl, a down-on-his-luck Burger Van vendor, trying to make the most of what he has.
"After his father passed away, Carl had an emotional breakdown, which led him to re-evaluate what he wanted to do with his life. On a whim, he quit his dead-end job and spent his family's savings on a burger van, bought from a guy he met down the pub.
"Once his wife, Sandra, finds out the financial strain he's put them through, Carl is forced to leave his marital home, his wife and his daughter behind and move back into his childhood bedroom in his mum's house. Carl is left with no choice but to make his new business venture work."
