A ROAD closure is set to be in place for 26 weeks to allow improvement works to be carried out in the town centre.
Works are set to take place in Bromsgrove town centre, at the south end of High Street, outside of the pedestrianised zone from April 15.
Worcestershire County Council has said the works will be carried out under a one-way closure, Monday to Friday, with the road closed to traffic in the eastbound direction for 26 weeks to allow the works to take place. A diversion route will be in place.
The road will be fully open at weekends and pedestrian and vehicular access will be maintained to minimise disruptions to residents, businesses, and visitors in the area.
The work is being carried out by Worcestershire County Council and Bromsgrove District Council.
It will consist of improvements on the eastern footway such as upgrading the paving to complement the rest of the High Street, introducing new street trees, cycle parking, and benches, as well as improving drainage and removing street clutter.
