A restaurant has reopened following a fire that broke out over the bank holiday weekend.
Gurkha Imperial Dining, located on Worcester Road, was forced to close at around 12.30pm on Friday (March 29) after a small fire started in the kitchen.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) were called to the scene with crews from Redditch, Bromsgrove and Droitwich helping to extinguish the fire.
West Mercia Police were also called out to assist HWFRS and closed Worcester Road whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.
Manager of Gurkha Imperial Dining, Kamal Dhakal, said: "The fire was in the kitchen and it was quite small, but the smoke made it seem big.
"The cause of the fire was a short circuit but everyone is fine. Luckily it happened when the restaurant was closed so nobody was hurt.
"Unfortunately, we had to cancel our bookings on Friday so we are really sorry to all our lovely customers. We are now back open and we are ready to serve our customers a delicious Nepalese meal."
The restaurant, which serves authentic Nepalese cuisine, managed to reopen straight away on Saturday (March 30) and continued to stay open for the remainder of the bank holiday weekend.
Staff at Gurkha Imperial Dining, which opened in December, have thanked customers for their understanding and support.
The restaurant is open Tuesday to Thursday from 4.30pm to 10.30pm, Friday and Saturday from 4pm to 11pm and Sunday from 2pm to 10pm.
It is also open on bank holidays from 4pm to 10pm.
The establishment seats 80 to 90 people and is also fully licensed with the bar offering a range of drinks and cocktails.
