Plans to expand a boarding house at a school in Bromsgrove have been approved.
The application, which was submitted to Bromsgrove District Council by Bromsgrove School, will see the property at 14 Conway Road connect to the school's existing boarding house at 16 to 18 Conway Road.
The school aims to knock through the party wall between 14 and 16 Conway Road to expand its accommodation offering with no external work needed on the building.
The extra accommodation will create three bedrooms with room for six bed spaces for the students.
In the decision notice, the head of planning, regeneration and leisure services, Ruth Bamford, said: "As shown on the proposed floor plans, an access way is to be created between the adjoining property and no.14 on both levels in the existing corridor. The proposals do not raise any residential amenity concerns for existing or future occupiers given the existing, proposed and surrounding uses.
"The Highways Officer has no objection to the proposal following confirmation from the agent that the students living at the property would be seven to 11 years old and that on the basis that the current adjoining houseparent accommodation at no. 20 will be the only staff with no additional staff.
"On the basis of the above the proposal would represent a sustainable form of development."
