A HAGLEY care home has hosted a party to celebrate the 70th wedding anniversary of residents Tony and Pam Turner.
The couple, who lived at The Gables, a luxury care home in Hagley, originally met at a local cricket game.
They put the secret of a happy marriage down to patience, partnership and appreciating the ‘ups and downs’ that make life interesting.
Julie Weaver, General Manager, The Gables comments: “We were delighted to be part of such a special day and enjoyed a champagne reception with Tony and Pam’s friends and family. The icing on the cake was receiving an anniversary card from the King and Queen.”
Tony and Pam couple, who travelled extensively during their marriage, enjoy living together with support from the care team at The Gables.
They lived in Barnt Green near Birmingham for over 50 years and were are very pleased to remain local.
In fact, Pam was active in the Brierley Hill and Alvechurch Operatic Societies and a member of Cofton and Barnt Green churches.
Located in Bennett Drive, The Gables is a residential care home that includes a dedicated community for people living with dementia.
There are 53 spacious ensuite bedrooms and 4 luxurious one bedroomed care suites each with a separate lounge and kitchenette area, ideal for couples or those who prefer additional space and independence.
