A longstanding venue in Bromsgrove has officially closed its doors as a nightclub for good.
The team at Truth Nightclub announced on social media that the venue was now shut and would no longer be operating as a nightclub.
The venue, which is located on Worcester Road, was purchased by its new owners back in December and has a long history in the town spanning more than two decades.
This includes under its previous management when it was Euphoria, Love 2 Love and 57 Monkeys.
Truth Nightclub said they had reviewed the performance of the venue as a nightclub and believed the town would benefit from something different.
The owners are now planning to undertake a refurbishment of the premises and reopen it as a live music venue.
In a post on Facebook, a spokesperson for Truth Nightclub said: "We can confirm that Truth Nightclub is officially shut and will no longer be opening as a nightclub.
"Whilst the venue has an excellent history in the town as a nightclub since we purchased the venue back in December from the previous ownership and management, we have reviewed the performance of the venue along with what we want to offer the people of Bromsgrove and we believe that something different is needed for the town and for the future of the premises.
"We plan to do a refurb of the venue and it will become a live music venue with some of the UK’s best tribute acts to bring to a wide and varied audience and give the people of Bromsgrove something different within the nighttime economy."
The team aims to open the venue to tribute acts and will be setting up new social media accounts for the business.
The new venue is set to open in early June with residents advised to keep an eye out for updates on social media.
Truth Nightclub added: "Once we are ready to go we will be setting up our new social media accounts and will of course post a link on here for you all to be able to see what’s coming.
"We aim to be opening the new venue around early June and we look forward to the future of 39 Worcester Road."
