A scout volunteer from Bromsgrove has been awarded a prestigious coronation medal for his services at the Coronation of King Charles III.
Phil Love, a group member from the Coronation Spectators, played a vital role in supporting the coronation and helping the Scouts fulfil their duty to the King.
This includes being involved in supporting the younger volunteers of the Scouts in roles such as duty managers and shift leaders.
The Scouts said that the medal acts as a thank you gift from the nation to commemorate the people who helped make the coronation service happen.
Mr Love, from the Bromsgrove Scouts, said: "I was genuinely surprised to receive the award. I truly wasn't anticipating anything as we were simply fulfilling our commitment to the King by carrying out our duties.
"The day was fantastic with a wonderful atmosphere. Despite hailing from various parts of the Commonwealth, we all united as a team and formed lifelong friendships."
Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden added: "The Coronation would not be possible without the dedication and selfless service shown by our armed forces and other public servants.
"This medal is a fitting recognition of their efforts and a thank you from the nation.
"It will be worn with pride for years to come."
The Scouts have been extremely honoured to receive such a special token of gratitude from His Majesty King Charles III for taking part in the historic event.
The organisation have recognised the huge responsibility they had to undertake to help make the event a success.
The Scouts also said doing their duty to the nation will "always be a priority no matter the scale".
