A team of repairers are set to offer their services to the residents of South Bromsgrove this weekend.
The Repair Cafe Bromsgrove initiative is driven by resident's desire to prolong the lifespan of their beloved household items and clothing.
An array of items, including clothes in need of a zip replacement or garden tools in need of sharpening, are repaired and returned to their owners in exchange for a donation.
The team will be at St Andrew’s Hall in Charford on May 4, with visitors able to bring items between 2pm and 4.30pm.
These contributions help the team cover the associated expenses such as hall hire, consumables, and insurance.
The organisers said there may be a wait so suggested brining a book, or enjoying the cake and hot rinks on offer.
All repairers, kitchen staff and reception staff are volunteers.
The team is looking for another woodworker, bike repairer and someone to run the kitchen.
Older children are encouraged to learn new repair skills under supervision.
Dog owners will not be allowed to bring their pets along, due to the hall's rules.
Those unable to attend can still benefit from the service on June 1 from 2pm-5pm at All Saints Hall, Birmingham Rd, and thereafter every first Saturday of the month at the same venue.
