THE Artrix in Bromsgrove is set to screen films once again starting in June for a one-month trial period.

This initiative aims to gauge the community's interest and the viability of resuming long-term cinema operations at Artrix.

The lineup for the reopening includes a diverse range of films to cater to all tastes, featuring titles such as Oppenheimer, The Great Escaper, Barbie, Wonka, La La Land, Sing, Rocky Horror Picture Show, A Man Called Otto, Mamma Mia!, Quadrophenia, The Goonies, and One Life.

A spokesperson for Bromsgrove Community Arts said: "Bromsgrove Community Arts Volunteers are thrilled to announce the return of cinema showings and look forward to welcoming the community to enjoy cinema once again at Artrix.

"There will be cinema snacks and a full bar open for guests to enjoy. Car parking is free of charge for visitors.

Subject to a successful trial, we aim to reopen the cinema showing new releases and other special one off events such as National Theatre screenings and live streams of Opera and Ballet."

Tickets are available for purchase at www.artrixbromsgrove.co.uk or at the box office.

The box office opening hours are Monday, 6pm to 8pm, Wednesday,10am to 12.30pm and Saturday, 10am to 2pm. People can call the box office on 01527 813 611.

Bromsgrove Community Arts previously approached The Artrix Holding Trust with a proposal for a short-term licence to operate the arts venue for nine months from April 2024.

A question mark previously hung over the future of the Bromsgrove venue, which first opened in 2005, after its former operator folded just before Covid-19 restrictions began in 2020.
