Free concerts are set to take place in Sanders Park this summer with the return of the Music at the Bandstand programme.

Starting today (June 2) and continuing on Sundays across the summer, the park will play host to a variety of performances from silver, concert, brass and jazz bands for residents and those from further afield to enjoy.

Bromsgrove District Council said this year's entertainment programme will feature local talent from across the district and surrounding areas and give musicians a "chance to shine".

This includes a performance from Frankley Guitar Club on Sunday, August 25.

Elgar International Summer School Brass Band will also be returning to the park with a one-hour concert on July 24.

Councillor Bernard McEldowney, cabinet member for leisure and climate change, said: "Music at the Bandstand has become a staple of our annual calendar and we’re delighted to have the musical programme return this summer with a full schedule of performances.

"There is a real range of music scheduled this year and, as always, it is a real pleasure to give local talent the chance to shine in such a beautiful location."

The concerts will take place between 2.30pm and 4.30pm on Sunday afternoons.
