A Worcestershire skin specialist has been named one of the best in the UK after reaching the final of a prestigious award.
Mia Casey, who owns Sunday Skin, was ranked in the top 50 nationally at the Hair and Beauty Awards 2024 for her work in stretch mark rejuvenation, loose skin rejuvenation and scar camouflage.
The 29-year-old, who first opened her business in Birmingham in June 2023, renovated a space on Kidderminster Road in Bromsgrove back in February.
Since opening its doors, the business has experienced huge success attracting customers from across Worcestershire and beyond including Redditch, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Worcester, London and Manchester.
Ms Casey, who is from Solihull, said: "A big part of my job is making people feel more confident. I believe that everyone deserves to feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin and I work really closely to achieve this with my clients.
"I used to be a senior manager but I really hated being in the office all the time and wanted a change. I'd always been interested in beauty and after having my own body confidence issues, I decided to train in stretch marks.
"I absolutely love my job and to be ranked number 43 in the top 50 is just incredible. I have only been running the business for a year, so to get national recognition is amazing.
"I was up against some really tough competition and leading experts in the industry. I almost had to pinch myself and I have made some really great friends too."
Ms Casey, who runs one of the only businesses in the area offering this type of treatment, decided to enter the competition on a whim and submitted three examples of her work.
In February, she was told that she was a finalist in the national awards before finding out she had achieved the top 50 in June.
She said the business, which caters for both men and women, tries to make the treatments as affordable as possible and Ms Casey finds it really rewarding to see people walk out of her clinic pain-free.
Ms Casey added: "I have clients from all across Worcestershire and even as far as London and Manchester. The treatments, including my derma force loose skin treatment, can be quite expensive, but it is absolutely worth it for the results we offer.
"I always try to make the treatments as affordable as possible whether it is a student who has a couple of scars or a mum that has had a baby, I give discounts and offer payment plans that won't affect your credit score.
"Everyone deserves access to skin treatment as it is not only provides a physical change to someone's health, but it helps people mentally too.
"I just want to say a huge thank you to my friends, family, colleagues in the industry and clients for all your lovely messages since my top 50 finish and also for your support over the past 12 months."
