A picnic shared with family and friends can be the perfect way to spend a hot summer's day.
With plenty of open places across Worcestershire that have stunning scenery and activities, it can be hard to pick a favourite spot.
For those needing some inspiration this weekend, Visit Worcestershire has compiled a helpful list of some of the best places to picnic in the county.
Worcester Woods Country Park
With a play area for the children, picnic benches, and a hundred acres of ancient woodland, Worcester Woods is a great spot to walk the dogs, meet friends and let the kids enjoy nature.
With large open fields, you can kick a ball and play games.
The Orchard Café is also on site serving hot and cold good as well as a variety of tasty treats and drinks.
Sanders Park
Sanders Park in Bromsgrove offers stunning open lawned spaces where you can sit and enjoy a picnic whilst the children play.
There is a popular bowling green, tennis courts, a putting green, a play area, a skate park and even a sensory garden.
The park also has a seasonal café on site with accessibility for wheelchair users.
The Clent Hills
The popular beauty spot is managed by The National Trust but is free to visit.
Visit Worcestershire said it is the county's biggest free attraction with stunning views over the area and the River Stour.
There is a café and toilets on site with free space to picnic anywhere as long as rubbish is taken home with you.
Arrow Valley
Described as a ‘hidden gem’ in Redditch, Arrow Valley is set over 2.5 sq miles of countryside,
The River Arrow runs through it and with the 29-acre Arrow Valley Lake, there are excellent wildlife habitats as well as great walks and activities.
At the heart of the park is the lakeside Arrow Valley Visitor Centre, which houses a café with views across the water.
Visit Worcestershire described it as having "something for everyone".
River Severn and Meadows
The Stourport beauty spot by the river is ideal for walking, fishing and picnicking with many attractions and activities on offer for the whole family to enjoy.
This includes riverboat trips, a children's play area, crazy golf, a putting green, a paddling pool and more.
On the other side of the bridge, visitors will also find the amusement centre with fairground rides and an arcade just a short walk away from the town centre shops and eateries.
