Police have launched an appeal after two men pretending to work for a school tried to scam an elderly resident.
West Mercia Police said the incident happened on School Road in Rubery on Monday (July 1).
Officers said two men pretending to work for a school approached residents and told them they were willing to do gardening work for cash.
They took an elderly man to a cashpoint and tried to get him to withdraw £700.
Police are now urging the community to contact them if they have any information or if they have also been approached by the men.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Two males pretending to work for the school approached residents saying they were willing to do gardening work for cash.
"If you have been approached please contact the police either on 101 or report the incident at www.westmercia.police.uk and go to the ‘tell us about it’ page quoting incident number 00158/1/01072024.
"You can also report it to Crimestoppers on www.crimestoppers.uk.org or by calling 0800 555 111."
