A man has been taken to hospital with "potentially serious injuries" following a two-car collision in Hagley.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said they were called at around 2.40pm today (Friday, July 19) to reports of an RTC at the junction of Monument Lane and the A456 Birmingham Road in Hagley.
An ambulance crew was sent to the scene where they found two cars were involved in the collision.
One patient, a man, required assessment and was treated by ambulance staff for potentially serious injuries.
He was taken to Russells Hall Hospital for further treatment.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of an RTC at the junction of Monument Lane and the A456 in Hagley at around 2.40pm.
"An ambulance was sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found two cars had been in a collision.
"There was one patient requiring assessment, a man. He was treated by ambulance staff for potentially serious injuries and conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital for further treatment."
West Mercia Police also attended the scene and closed the carriageway towards Birmingham on the Birmingham Road between the junction with Stourbridge Road and the island with Wassell Grove Lane.
Drivers were warned about increased traffic in the area and urged to find alternative routes whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We received a call at around 3.45pm this afternoon (Friday, July 19) with a report of a collision on Birmingham Road in Hagley.
"Officers arrived at the incident to find two cars involved."
