POLICE have launched an investigation after a woman was reportedly raped at a park in Bromsgrove.
Officers are at Sanders Park today (Sunday, July 28) after receiving a report of an incident in the area in the early hours of the morning.
A cordon has been in place at the park and there's an increased police presence.
In a statement, West Mercia Police said: "There is currently an increased police presence in Bromsgrove after officers received a report of a rape in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, July 28).
"Officers are currently at the scene on Sanders Park after a report was received that a woman had been raped in the area between 1am and 5am".
Inspector Richard Field has said specially trained police officers are now supporting the victim.
He added: “Understandably an incident like this can cause concerns to the public, but I would like to reassure the local community that an investigation has been launched.
“There is likely to be an increase in police officers in the area for some time whilst enquiries are carried out.
"Specially trained officers are supporting the victim.”
