No casualties were reported following a severe barn blaze in Rednal last week. 

Five Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews, including two from Wyre Forest, two from Redditch and one from Bromsgrove Fire Stations, were called to an agricultural building fire in Egghill Lane. 

The incident happened at around 2.30am on Friday (August 16) with the fire service reporting that a hay storage barn had caught fire. 

A water carrier from Evesham and a West Midlands Fire Service crew from Northfield were also called to the scene with firefights using three main jets and a hose reel jet to put out the fire.

The fire service confirmed that nobody was injured in the fire including any animals. 

The response to the fire was scaled back throughout Friday (August 16) but fire crews from Worcester and Droitwich remained at the scene. 

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Five Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – two from Wyre Forest, two from Redditch and one from Bromsgrove Fire Stations – plus the water carrier from Evesham and a West Midlands Fire Service crew from Northfield were called at 2.32am on August 16 to an agricultural building fire in Egghill Lane, Rednal.

"A hay storage barn, around 10m by 30m, was 100 per cent involved in fire. The incident was sectorised and the fire was fought using three main jets and a hose reel jet.

"Egghill Lane was closed by police who also attended. There were no casualties. The incident is being scaled back, with crews from Worcester and Droitwich attending as relief, but remains ongoing."

West Mercia Police also attended the scene and closed the road to traffic whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.
