Students across Bromsgrove District have been celebrating their GCSE and BTEC results as they secure places at their chosen colleges and other destinations.

At South Bromsgrove High School, almost 200 students have chosen to continue their educational journey at its sixth form with more than 13% of the year group achieving grades 8 and 9 in all of their subjects. 

Headteacher Chris Smith said: "These strong outcomes would not be possible without the support of parents, carers and teaching staff in encouraging and supporting students throughout their studies.

"We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future."

Students at North Bromsgrove High School were similarly celebrating an outstanding set of GCSE results. 

Headteacher Nick Gibson said: "We are pleased for our students who have achieved another good set of GCSE results.

"Our students and staff should feel very proud, and we jointly celebrate their success which will enable our students to pursue their next steps and aspirations."

Standout performances include Holly Easden, Grace Brotherton, Eva Jarvis, Oliver White and Ruby Hyde who across their grades were awarded the prestigious grade 9.

In addition, fantastic academic progress featuring the top 10% in the country went to Esmae Rowan, Lydia Davies and Deborah Jenkins.  

The school added: "These results complement our Sixth Form A-Level results which were released last week.

"It is a privilege to work with our talented staff, and it is with a deep sense of commitment that we will continue to nurture the talents and abilities of our students across our North family." 

Bromsgrove School also celebrated another year of exceptional GCSE results with 62% of students gaining at least a grade 7 and 41% gaining a grade 8 or 9. 

At Waseley Hills High School in Rubery, students achieved an impressive 130 separate grade 7, 8 and 9 qualifications. 

Top individual performances include Jessica Preston-Hunt who successfully achieved a grade 9 in biology, chemistry, maths and art and design and a grade 8 in English literature, geography and PE. 

Mia Lynch achieved a grade 9 in English literature, geography and psychology and a grade 8 in PE and English language. 

Joseph Burgoyne achieved a grade 9 in maths and music, a grade 8 in English literature and a grade 7 in English language, physics and geography.

Oliver Bennison achieved nine strong GCSEs including a grade 9 in biology and physics, a grade 8 in chemistry, art and maths, and a grade 7 in geography.

Imogen Pennant achieved a grade 9 in psychology and geography and a grade 8 in Spanish, English language and literature, chemistry and biology.

Alice Corby achieved a grade 9 in art and design and English language and a grade 8 in all three sciences, history and maths.

Haven Johnson achieved a grade 8 in English Literature and Religious Studies, and a grade 7 in Business Studies and History.
