No serious injuries have been reported after a car reversed through a shop window in Rubery.  

West Midlands Ambulance Service said they were called to reports of a car that had reversed through a shop window at around 4.34pm on Tuesday (August 27). 

One ambulance and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene at Harrisons on New Road where they found two patients. 

The man, who was the driver of the car, and a female teenager, who was inside the shop, were assessed and discharged at the scene. 

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Bromsgrove and Droitwich Fire Stations were also called to the single-car collision. 

The area was cordoned off due to the damage to the shop and Cadent Gas was called to make the incoming gas safe and to allow crews to remove the car from the shop. 

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – one each from Bromsgrove and Droitwich Fire Stations – plus a West Midlands Fire Service crew from Northfield were called to an RTC into a building in New Road at 4.35pm on August 27.

"A car had reversed through a shop window. The driver had exited from the vehicle before the arrival of the fire service.

"Gas was isolated by fire crews who requested Cadent to make incoming gas safe to enable the removal of the vehicle from the shop window.

"The front of the shop was cordoned off due to the damage.

"One casualty was handed over to the care of the ambulance service who attended along with police. The incident was marked as pending closure at 6.47pm."

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police added: "We were called to a single-vehicle collision on New Road in Rubery on Tuesday, August 27 at around 4.35pm.

"No injuries were reported and no arrests were made."
