A Bromsgrove care home is inviting blue light workers for breakfast to celebrate Emergency Services Day.

On Monday (September 9), Care UK's Chandler Court is opening its doors from 8am to 10am for a special morning treat.

The café at the care home, located on Recreation Road, will welcome emergency service teams as a show of gratitude for their hard work.

These include workers from the fire brigade, ambulance service, and police force, all of whom play vital roles in public life.

The home's head chef, Alex Millichamp, will prepare an array of breakfast favourites, featuring English breakfast baps, croissants, and pastries.

The home has said that its residents are excited at the prospect of spending time with and speaking to the blue light workers about what they get up to day to day.

Lilly Dahms, the home's manager, said: "The work that blue light workers do in the community is invaluable, and in celebration of Emergency Services Day we wanted to do something special to show our appreciation.

“Our emergency services drop-in café is an excellent opportunity to learn more about members of the community who work in blue light roles, while being able to do something nice for them as a little thank you.

“We hope to put a smile on their faces, as they embark on another busy day.

"Thank you for all that you do.”

Chandler Court provides full-time residential, dementia and nursing care, as well as short-term respite care, and aims to give its residents a productive and fulfilling life.

The home features a cinema, café, hair salon, and space to relax both indoors and outdoors.
