Award-winning performers, food vendors and more entertained hundreds of people in Rubery last weekend.

Huge crowds gathered as the highly anticipated annual Rubery Festival returned to St Chad's Park on Sunday (September 1).

There was something for the whole family to enjoy including the parade, which started at the Rubery Memorial Club, followed by live entertainment from award-winning singers, dancers and other acts.

Children also had a fun day with pony rides, bouncy castles, face painting and more.

They were even treated to special appearances from Disney characters including Anna and Rapunzel.

Rubery Festival Committee chairman Tony Maslen said: "Hundreds turned out for the Rubery Festival last weekend. It was very overcast but it did not rain as the weather report predicted.

"It was a great parade and all the kids had fun on the fair and pony rides. There were also plenty of food outlets and the children loved singing and dancing along with Anna and Rapunzel.

"It was a great day out for the community."

As well as food and entertainment, there was also a charity table top sale, a tombola, live wrestling and a vintage and classic car display.

The event, which was organised by the Rubery Festival Committee, was free to enter and took place on New Road from 12pm until 5pm.
