MUSIC fans braved the rain to sing and dance at the Blackwell Music Festival on Saturday (September 7).
The popular festival is a non-profit community event held in the village of Blackwell.
It's now in its eighth year and sold nearly 900 tickets, with music fans enjoying seven groups including young local combos, a choir, a bluegrass quartet and classic sing-along cover bands.
There was also a range of food vendors at the event including Pizza Heaven, Caribbean Bests Jamaican Cuisine, Ascotts dirty fries, That’s a Wrap Greek wrap and Betty’s Waffles
Organisers of Blackwell Music Festival praised those who shrugged off the weather and described the event as having an “amazing atmosphere”.
Reacting to the event on social media, the band Major Lee & The Dukes said: "A huge thank you to everyone who was there at Blackwell Festival. To all that sang and danced and enjoyed us.
"What a fantastic afternoon/evening. A big thank you to all that made the event happen.
"Hope to see you all again soon."
The Score, another band who performed, said: "A huge thank you to everyone who came, sang and danced in the rain last night.
"What a fantastic evening. A massive thanks to everyone who made it such a wonderful event. Hope to see you all again soon.
Festival guests also shared their praise for the festival. Sharon C Towner said: "Fabulous day, thanks to all the organisers and volunteers."
Food vendor Betty’s Waffle Co said: "A brilliant day. Thank for having us Blackwell Festival an awesome turnout in the typical British weather".
