POLICE are cracking down on speeding in Alvechurch after reports of motorists exceeding a 20mph limit.
Officers have been carrying out speed checks on the 20mph zone in the village.
At one point, 15 vehicles were recorded exceeding the speed limit within 15 minutes.
In a post on the Bromsgrove Police Facebook page, officers said that Safer Neighbourhood Team officers will continue to conduct speed enforcement on the road.
They said: "Part of the role of Safer Neighbourhood Teams is to listen the concerns and issues raised by residents and work to a resolution so that the residents involved no longer state they feel unsafe.
"Residents of Alvechurch have reported to both police and the parish council that vehicles driving through the 20mph zone are often well exceeding the speed limit. Safer Neighbourhood officers have been out to assess.
"Within 15 minutes, 15 vehicles were recorded exceeding the 20mph speed limit.
"As the road is now identified as one where vehicles are not adhering to the correct speed, SNT officers will be returning to carry out speed enforcement.
"Please adhere to the speed limits, if a road is set at a certain speed, it is for a reason, exceeding the speed limit not only puts yourself at risk, but also pedestrians and other road users".
