A MAN has been jailed for his role in an organised drug dealing network selling heroin and crack cocaine in Bromsgrove.
Dave Dickson was found guilty of possession with intent to supply heroin and possession of criminal property at Worcester Crown Court on Friday, October 18.
He was further convicted of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, being concerned in the supply of heroin and possession of cannabis.
A Vauxhall Astra was stopped on the M5 following a police operation into the 'Bossman' county line in Bromsgrove on November 1, 2023.
‘Bossman’ was the name of the telephone number, or ‘deal line’, used to run the organised drug-dealing network.
The car was spotted and followed onto the M5 before being stopped by officers The driver was Dickson, of Saladin Avenue, Oldbury, who was found in possession of the 'Bossman' drugs line phone and £935 cash.
Police searched his home address and recovered heroin with a street value of £9,400.
He answered "no comment" in a police interview and was charged and remanded.
Further investigations showed his phone was also being used to deal crack cocaine.
Dickson, aged 41, was sentenced to four years in prison, deprivation of rights to the Vauxhall Astra, forfeiture of drugs and phone, forfeiture of £935 cash and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £225.
Detective Constable David Laver, of North Worcestershire CID, said: “We are pleased to get this result at court to halt county lines drug dealing which reaps harm and misery on the lives of the people we are here to protect and serve.
“We will always act on any intelligence received about drug dealing in your area and the public can help us tackling these criminals by continuing to report it to us.”
