Police have been carrying out speed checks in Bromsgrove following concerns from residents. 

Bromsgrove Police said Bromsgrove SNT conducted a speeding enforcement operation during the early morning and rush hour on Woodrow Lane.

The operation took place on Thursday (October 24) following concerns raised by the community during a recent drop in surgery. 

Officers said more than 130 vehicles were scanned with the fastest recorded speed being 47mph in a 30mph zone. 

More than 12 vehicles were also stopped to ensure road safety with the average speed being 28.1mph. 

Police have issued a warning to drivers who were over the speed limit and "putting others at risk".

"Despite the dark morning over 130 vehicles were scanned, with the fastest recorded speed being 47 mph in a 30 mph zone. We stopped and checked more than 12 vehicles to ensure road safety, and we’re pleased to report that the average speed was 28.1 mph. a few drivers were putting others at serious risk by exceeding the speed limit.

"Your safety is our priority especially as visibility decreases in the darker hours. We will continue to take action where needed all over Bromsgrove. Thank you for helping us make Bromsgrove’s roads safer."
