A FEAST of festive events including light switch-ons and markets have been organised across Bromsgrove in the run-up to Christmas.
The Bromsgrove town centre Christmas event starts on Friday, November 22 with St John’s Market in the High Street from 9am until 4pm and runs the following day.
Alongside the market on November 23, there is the Countdown to Christmas, organised by Bromsgrove District Council with the lights being switched on at 5pm.
Entertainment runs from 3pm and includes sounds from Altogether Vocal Choir, Blackwell Concert band, Bromsgrove School and Artrix Pantomime.
The following week, Rubery Lights Switch-on runs from 3pm until 5pm on Saturday, November 30, with the chance to meet Father Christmas and join in carols with St Chad’s Church.
A host of other Christmas lights switch-on events are being held in other areas, supported by the District Council, which include Aston Fields on Sunday, December 1, from 2pm to 10pm, Alvechurch, on Saturday, November 30, at 4pm, Barnt Green, on Saturday November 30 from 3.30pm to 4pm, Catshill, on Saturday, November 23 at 6pm, Hagley, on Saturday November 30, from 4pm to 7.30pm and Wythall, on Friday, November 29 from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
Bromsgrove District Council’s portfolio-holder for leisure councillor Bernard McEldowney said: “Once again there is an amazing line-up of festive fun across the District and what’s more, they are free.
“To help residents keep track of what’s on we have created a postcard with all the dates and times on which is being distributed across the District including Parkside and libraries.”
