A COMEDIAN said he could not believe two Worcestershire villages exist because of their weird names.

Roy Wood Jr appeared on Have I Got News for You last night (Friday) and was shocked to discover Flyford Flavell and Upton Snodsbury were real places.

The American comedian and actor was reading a question on the show when he stumbled on the village's pronunciations.

He said: "What words are you putting - these are not real places.

"You are just putting British syllables together."

On the show, the contestants had to guess what road runs between Flyford Flavell and Upton Snodsbury in Worcestershire - a sentence the star struggled to say.

He was met with laughter and had Paul Merton jokingly add: "They are making fun of you."

Roy replied: "I know, and I am going to let them - it's fine.

"We gave you Trump for the next four years."

Flyford Flavell is a small village nestled between Worcester and Alcester, and it sits just off the A422.

Whereas Upton Snodsbury is just a short drive west on A422 from its neighbouring village Flyford Flavell.

Between the two is another village called North Piddle.

MP Nigel Huddleston, who had watched the show last night, said: "I love that two fantastic villages in my constituency: Flyford Flavell and Upton Snodsbury got a mention on Have I Got News for You this evening.

"Yes, they are real places!"
