MORE dumped rabbits have been spotted in the Chaddesley Corbett woods after being dumped there.
A team were out searching for more rabbits last night (Friday, November 15) after 100 abandoned bunnies were found in the wood in Chaddesley Corbett earlier this week.
Shrewsbury Rabbit Rescue has said that, although none were caught in the search, thermal imaging has confirmed there are still quite a few rabbits still there.
The bunnies appear to be congregating in the area near where they were originally dumped.
The search and rescue party found a lop-eared bunny, but it swiftly took off as the team moved closer.
A spokesperson for Shrewsbury Rabbit Rescue said: "Thank you to everyone who attended.
"It's confirmed there are still quite a few rabbits there.
Thermal imaging was key to obtaining this information.
"We managed to get a picture of a lop-eared bunny who swiftly took off as we moved closer, it's hard to tell on a still image but clear as day when you see it live.
"They all seem to congregate around the area where they were dumped.
"Sadly, none were caught but we have further plans in place that we feel confident about.
"A trail cam is in place at the food source so hopefully we'll get footage."
The bunnies found on Monday were described by users on social media to be in a “bad way'.
A number of the bunnies that were cruelly dumped are now on the mend at veterinary practices thanks to kind donations to a rescue charity.
Lucky Bunny and Friends Rescue, an animal sanctuary based in Gornal Wood, took in 56 of the rabbits discovered and thanks to a flurry of donations they are now being booked in for treatment.
