Residents are set for a whole host of festive fun this weekend as the annual Christmas light switch-on and market comes to Bromsgrove.
The event in Bromsgrove town centre starts on Friday (November 22) with St John’s Market in the High Street running from 9am until 4pm and continuing the following day.
Alongside the market, there will be a countdown to Christmas on Saturday (November 23), which has been organised by Bromsgrove District Council, with the lights being switched on at 5pm.
Entertainment runs from 3pm and includes sounds from Altogether Vocal Choir, Blackwell Concert band, Bromsgrove School and Artrix Pantomime.
The following week, Rubery lights switch-on runs from 3pm until 5pm with the chance to meet Father Christmas and join in carols with St Chad’s Church.
A host of other switch on events are being held with support from Bromsgrove District Council which includes:
- Aston Fields - Sunday, December 1
- Alvechurch - Saturday, November 30
- Barnt Green - Saturday, November 30
- Catshill - Saturday, November 23
- Hagley - Saturday, November 30
- Wythall - Friday, November 29
Councillor Bernard McEldowney, Bromsgrove District Council’s portfolio holder for leisure, said: "Once again there is an amazing line-up of festive fun across the District and what’s more, they are free.
"To help residents keep track of what’s on we have created a postcard with all the dates and times on which is being distributed across the District including Parkside and libraries."
