THE Basement Project in Bromsgrove is calling on the local community to help raise £10,000 to support young people at risk of homelessness.
Running until December 25, the Opening Doors for Young People campaign aims to bring hope, stability, and a brighter future to those who need it most.
Last Christmas, thanks to the amazing generosity of local people, a similar campaign raised enough to fund over 400 hours of one-to-one support.
This year, The Basement Project hopes to achieve this again, ensuring young people in our community have somewhere to turn when life gets tough.
The Basement Project provides a lifeline for young people facing the challenges of homelessness, offering support with everything from housing and budgeting to mediation and counselling. These services don’t just meet immediate needs – they help young people build the confidence and skills to rebuild their lives and manage a tenancy independently.
Caleb Mallard, CEO at The Basement Project, said: “This campaign is about much more than raising money – it’s about giving hope.”
"Every pound donated helps us provide the practical and emotional support young people need to rebuild their lives. Last year’s campaign made an incredible difference, and with the community’s support, we hope to do it again.”
Those who wish to support the campaign can donate online at https://www.totalgiving.co.uk/appeal/openingdoorsthischristmas, drop off cash or cheques at Hanover House, 1 Hanover Street, Bromsgrove, make a bank transfer directly to the charity (details available on request).
Kelly Turner, fundraising manager at The Basement Project said: “Christmas can be a difficult time for many young people in our community, but together, we can change that.”
“Every donation, big or small, brings hope and opens doors to a brighter future for the young people we support.”
