ASSISTANT chief constable Peter Wright is retiring after 30 years with West Mercia Constabulary.
Peter, aged 50, joined the force as a constable in 1978 and has spent his entire career with West Mercia. As a uniformed officer he worked at various places including Bromsgrove, Rubery and Redditch. In the 1980s he spent three years serving as residential beat officer in Romsley, working from and living in the police station house, which enabled him to be part of the community and work closely with people in the village.
