ANOTHER ‘victim’ of the weekend’s rain was the special charity evening opening of the Marlbrook gardens in Bromsgrove.
Lynn Nokes, who together with husband Alan, had planned to open their garden at 24 Braces Lane to the public, said: “Our sincere apologies to those who wished to attend the evening opening of Marlbrook Gardens in Braces Lane. Owing to the severe weather conditions, we felt that in the interests of safety, we had no alternative but to postpone the opening until Saturday, September 20.”
The gardens will be open that evening from 6.30-10 pm, when admission is £5 for all three gardens including a glass of wine or soft drink. There will be food available and the gardens will be illuminated at dusk.
Mrs Nokes said: “We hope the weather will be kind as all proceeds will go to National Garden Scheme Charities.”
As well as their garden at 24 Braces Lane, the other two gardens open will those belonging to John and Janet Morgan, ‘Saranacris’, Braces Lane, and David and Di Morgan, ‘Oak Tree House’, Birmingham Road, Bromsgrove.
