Bromsgrove Town under-14s 4
Wythall Town 1
BROMSGROVE Town Under-14s' first competitive match of the new season ended in a comfortable home win. Andy Pugh opened the scoring in the first minute following a great ball from Dan Arnold.
Cameron Wellington scored a brace to make it 3–0 just before the break, and it could have been more with Dan Strange and Matt Arnold both forcing fine saves from the keeper.
But the defence had to be alert with Harry Rhodes winning a great tussle, sprinting back to prevent a one-on-one, and then Ilija Daniel produced a stunning fingertip save to turn the ball around his left post.
The second half followed a similar pattern with Shane Broome, Ethan Godwin, Matt Dyer and Harry Rhodes all going close, but Wythall pulled a goal back eight minutes before the end from a corner.
Dyer made it 4 -1 almost straight away, and it was no more than Town deserved.
Man of the match was shared between Matt Dyer and Harry Rhodes.
