AWARD-winning comedian and star of radio and television, Jason Manford, will perform at the Artrix in Bromsgrove tomorrow (Thu) as part of his debut UK tour.

With a genuine respect and love of the traditions of the comedy greats, Jason is renowned for his strong, charming and wry, pin-point accurate observations.

If there is even the tiniest speck of humour to be mined from the interactions of our daily lives, he is guaranteed to unearth it and transform it instantly into comedy gold.

One of the leading lights of the UK’s comedy circuit for over five years, Jason is based in the north west and started his comedy career as a pot collector at Manchester’s longest running comedy club, The Buzz.

When an act failed to turn up one night, Jason offered to step in and went on to win over a very demanding audience.

Five weeks and four gigs later, he won the first of many awards; the prestigious North West Comedian of the Year Award, previously won by Caroline Aherne, Johnny Vegas and Peter Kay.

He has also been nominated for the much coveted Perrier Award and is the winner of a Chortle Award and The Writers’ Guild Award for the Best Comedy Newcomer in 2005.

He has performed at many of the country’s most popular comedy clubs and was the host of the Xfm Manchester Breakfast Show.

He is also a Team Captain on Channel Four’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats and is to star in Channel Four’s Nightly Show, a groundbreaking new daily programme that starts transmitting in late Summer this year.

The show at the Artrix starts at 8pm. For more details, visit www.artrix.co.uk
