THREE people were taken to hospital following a four car collision on the M5.

The incident happened on the northbound carriageway between junction five at Wychbold and six at Tibberton shortly after 1.45pm on Friday, September 5.

A spokesman for the West Mercia Ambulance Service said the driver and passenger of one car, a man and a woman believed to be in their 30s, suffered back injuries, while the passenger of a second car, a woman said to be in her 20s, also suffered a back injury.

Three ambulances, an incident support officer and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene, and crews treated the man and two women, who were all immobilised using neck collars and spinal boards. Two of the patients were transferred to Worcester Royal Hospital and the third was taken to Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.
