OUR last meeting was a talk on bulbs through the year by Vic Aspland. Here Vic, in his enthusiastic way, with a host of slides, left us in little doubt as to the fantastic effects that we could achieve by the correct choice and use of bulbs in our garden.
The annual Clent Flower Show was held on Saturday, September 13, in the recently-refurbished Clent parish hall. The show was due to be opened by Anne and Ken Quiney, long-serving members of our club. This event, organised jointly with Clent WI and in its 62nd year, is a major attraction drawing visitors from Clent and the surrounding areas. September’s regular meeting will be held on Friday the 26th at Clent parish hall when Howard Drury will be talking to us about Switzerland: Flower Hunting in the Bernese Oberland. With our varied programme of interesting garden-based talks, quizzes and visits, whatever your gardening interests, Clent Gardening Club will have something for you; so why not come and find out more about us? All are welcome to meetings on the fourth Friday of each month at 7.30 for 7.45pm, normally held at Clent parish hall, Church Avenue. For further details contact John Babb on 0121 550 1176.
