BURGLARS used a garden fork in an attempt to break into a house in Cofton Hackett on Monday.
The two men got into the rear garden of the house just before 3.30pm and used the fork to force a patio door, but were disturbed by the victim, an elderly woman.
They ran off along Barnt Green Road towards the Oak Tree pub. Nothing was stolen, but £600 damage was caused.
The offenders are white, in their early 20s, both are about 5ft 6in tall and of slim build. One was wearing a dark zip-up jacket and a woollen hat and the other was wearing an orange reflective jacket.
PC Mike Roberts said: “Despite house to house inquiries and an extensive search, there was no trace of the men, and we are appealing for witnesses to contact me on 08457 444888 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
