THERE was a wave of excitement at St Andrew’s C of E First School when lessons took on a nautical theme.
As part of their topic on the seaside, years one and two at the Barnt Green school enjoyed a trip to Burnham-on-Sea. There they visited the Royal National Lifeboats Institution (RNLI) coastguard and then took part in a sandcastle competition on the beach.
Earlier, to raise money for the RNLI, the whole school enjoyed taking part in a dress as a sailor day. Headteacher Kay Cholmondeley said everyone was very excited about their special day out, had great fun and learned a lot about the RNLI.
