WITNESSES are being sought following an unusual incident on a bus travelling through Rubery.
It happened at about 5pm on Tuesday (September 23) when the victim, a 21-year-old man, got on the bus outside St Chad’s Church in New Road, and noticed a man lying down on the back seat.
As the bus reached the British Legion on Whetty Lane the man got up and sat down next to the victim, and began speaking aggressively to him.
He then got up and began to pace up and down.
The victim then saw what he believed to be a knife handle sticking out of his trousers.
By this time the bus had travelled along the A38 towards the Lydiate Ash island where it turned left and at this stage the victim shouted for the bus driver to call the police.
The bus stopped and the man got off. He was seen picking items up from the side of the road and throwing them at cars.
The man is described as white aged 19 to 22, 5ft 10ins to 5ft 11ins tall, of medium build, with short black hair, and a goatee beard. He was wearing tan coloured boots, black combat style jeans with a black T-shirt, a black padded body warmer, and a black bandana with a white pattern that was folded and worn across the forehead and the back of his head and was tied in a knot at the front of his head. He was also carrying three or four blue paper bags which appeared to be stuffed with clothes.
Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact PC Sam Peterson at Rubery Police Station on 08457 444888 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
