BROMSGROVE police are investigating the assault of a delivery driver in Belbroughton.

The incident happened on the A491 at about 2.50pm on September 23. The victim, a delivery driver in his 40s, was driving from Hagley towards the M5 when he pulled into a layby to do paperwork. A black car, described as similar to a Honda Prelude, pulled up behind him. Two men got out of the vehicle, went up to the victim’s vehicle and one accused him of damaging his mirror.

The first man punched the victim to the face, causing a small cut to his eyebrow, a lump under the eye and bruising to the top of his nose. The other was swinging nunchucks, a martial arts weapon, around.

The victim managed to punch the first man, knocking him to the floor. He got up and both men returned to their car, driving off along the A491. Both men were Asian.

The vehicle’s registration plate began with an R and ended in a TU or TV. There was a yellow symbol hanging from the rear view mirror. Witnesses are asked to contact PC Jenni Price, at Rubery police station, on 08457 444888, or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
