HAVING won a Brit Award for Best Newcomer back in the 90s Beverley Craven then took time out to stay at home with her three daughters.
Although never giving up writing and recording, her priorities were her girls. Now they are older she's back to resume where she left off – writing, recording and performing great songs.
With a new album due out this autumn she is back at one of her favourite venues, Huntingdon Hall, Worcester on October 29 for another great show.
Beverley Craven’s self-titled debut album sold over 750,000 copies in the UK and remained in the UK album chart for over a year. It has now sold almost two million copies worldwide and the top three single ‘Promise Me’ from the album is still played somewhere in the world at least once a day.
With such a storming start to her recording career it was inevitable she caught the eyes of the BPI and was nominated for Best British Newcomer, Best British Female Artist and Best British Album at the 1992 Brit Awards.
Eight-and-a-half months pregnant with her first daughter at the awards ceremony she took to the stage to accept her gong.
Her second album ‘Love Scenes’ was an instant top five success. Then, three daughters later she had released her third album ‘Mixed Emotions’.
Now she is back on the road and it’s likely audiences will hear songs from her latest album ‘Close To Home’, which many in the music world are saying is "Beverley at her best".
Local fans will soon have the chance to check out for themselves.
