DROITWICH singing sensation Charlie Green is starring alongside Les Dennis in a film shot in Rednal to raise money for a cancer charity.
The 54-year-old former Family Fortunes host and Britain’s Got Talent entrant Charlie appear in the new 15-minute movie Waiting in Rhyme, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Former Birmingham Poet Laureate and Rednal resident Giovanni Esposito, better known as Spoz, is working on the production, which was shot at the Hillscourt Conference Centre, Rednal, last week.
The film, told entirely in rhyme and inspired by a host of poems submitted by members of the public earlier in the year, is set in a GP’s waiting room.
Producer Martin Nigel Davey said: “Les Dennis has been a great supporter of this project from the start. His mother died of cancer, so the fact that this film will be sold for Macmillan is a bonus to him.”
