Christine Hickman-Smith welcomed everyone, including two new visitors, to the meeting and thanked members for braving the torrential rain. She thanked all the members who had helped at the very successful summer fete.
The speaker for the evening needed no introduction as Jackie Emeny, the president, proceeded to give a demonstration on boning a chicken. Jackie then went on to demonstrate how to prepare a spatchcock chicken.
Following the theme of celebration food Jackie then showed the meeting how to make almond puffs and Kidderminster plum cakes, an old local recipe originally using plums and cherries.
Jackie had also made the dishes at home and four lucky members won them as raffle prizes, Rosabelle Needham thanked Jackie for such an entertaining evening. The next craft meeting took place on September 24 when gifts for the November craft stall were made.
