PLACES are up for grabs at a popular Rubery playgroup which has moved to bigger premises.
Youngsters can join in a variety of sessions at the Jelly Babies Stay and Play Groups where they can learn and have fun joining in a host of activities.
Manager Julie Kite-Lightfoot set up the stay and play group 20 years ago at Longbridge Methodist Church, but now the group has moved to St Stephen’s Church, in Edgewood Road, and Rednal Hill School to provide a better service with outdoor play areas and extra security. The bigger premises also mean the group can expand and introduce new groups.
Fun activities to stimulate babies and toddlers include bikes, book corner, messy play, a host of toys, musical instruments, dressing up and floor toys. For babies there is a separate area with rattles, toys, bouncers and changing stations.
There are places available at the Tuesday and Thursday afternoon birth to four groups and the Thursday morning and afternoon and Friday morning Plus Twos group.
Sessions are held at St Stephen’s Church, Edgewood Road, Rednal, and the Thursday session is at Rednal Hill School.
Julie said: “This is a really big move for the group, however we are excited at the new opportunities we are going to be able to offer to our families.”
Admission is £2 for the first child and £1 siblings, which includes refreshments for parents or carers and children. The group is also looking for volunteers to help out.
