CATSHILL residents are being urged to get Wombling and take part in a clean up operation.
The Bromsgrove Community Safety Partnership needs volunteers to help clear up Catshill on Saturday, October 11. The clear up has been organised by local churches as part of Hope 08, a national Christian event. The clean up will involve picking up litter, removing graffiti, carrying out basic repairs and cutting back overgrown vegetation. Around 170 volunteers took part in a similar clean up of Charford in May. Sergeant Nick Husbands, of Bromsgrove police, said he hoped the Catshill event would be just as successful. “If graffiti and litter is just left, an area quickly looks uncared for which adds to the fear of crime and can encourage further vandalism. We want to encourage people to have pride in their community, roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.” The event runs from 10am to noon, with volunteers asked to meet at the Milton Road Baptist church at 9.45am.
