The evening was dry, which made the walk to the village hall pleasant.
A group of us enjoyed an evening in Frankley WI curling. This was good fun and our hosts looked after us very well. We are looking forward to a curling evening in Hanbury next year. The August garden party which was held in Jill’s garden, was deemed a great success and our thanks went to Jill and her team, who organised the evening. Francis informed us that our first skittles match is next month, but before that we have our skittles social evening to enjoy. Our speaker for the evening was Tracy Genever, from The Blue Cross.
She gave us a very interesting talk with a slide show on the history of Our dumb friends league, as it was called until 1950.
Audrey gave the vote of thanks. The competition was won by Karen.
