Bromsgrove Town under-14s 4
Continental Star 0
IN their last match of 2008, Town played some of their best football of the year as they beat top of the table Continental Star.
Dan Strange appeared to have headed Town in front after six minutes but the linesman ruled it out.
Two minutes later, Strange bundled the ball in following a goalmouth scramble to make it 1–0.
Shaun Ind hit the bar with a great free kick, and Matt Fothergill was unlucky when his shot came back off the post, but just before half time the ball fell to Dan Arnold in the box who made it 2–0.
Town had the wind against them in the second half, but the back four of Chad Wakeling, Matt Dyer, Andy Pugh and Dan Higham were quick, strong and decisive in protecting Ilija Daniel's goal.
On the counter attack Town were threatening, with Cameron Wellington scoring a fantastic individual goal, with a strong, mazy skilful run down the right followed by an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner.
Ethan Godwin then put the icing on the cake, finishing off the move of the match as Matt Arnold won the ball twice before releasing Matt Fothergill.
He crossed to Wellington who touched it onto Ethan Godwin and he calmly controlled the ball before hammering it home for 4–0.
