THOMAS Hardy's best known and most passionate story from deepest Dorset, Tess of the D’Urbevilles – Theatreworks, will be brought faithfully to life in a fresh adaptation at Bromsgrove’s Artrix venue later this month.
With a captivating plot, atmospheric music, songs, country dances and a good measure of ‘Wessex comedy’ it relives the struggles of fair maiden Tess who, having fallen victim to the desires of bounder Alec D’Urberville, fights to keep her family from starvation and gain forgiveness from Angel Clare – the man she truly loves.
It is re-created with fine attention to period detail.
The show is on Wednesday, May 20, at 8pm.
