ALCESTER Amateur Operatic Society is bringing the cheeky romantic comedy Crazy for You to the Palace Theatre this October.
The 1992 Tony Award best musical winner is a real classic song-and-dance show and offers some exhilarating tap dancing reminiscent of 42nd Street and Singin’ in the Rain.
The story involves a stage-struck New York playboy, Bobby Child, who is sent to a small, poor town in Nevada to close down the local theatre.
Soon Bobby falls in love with the theatre owner’s daughter, Polly and in order to save the theatre, he dreams up the idea to put on a show to raise money.
Some of the fantastic songs and music from George and Ira Gershwin includes Someone to Watch Over Me, I Got Rhythm, They Can’t Take That Away From Me, Slap that Bass and Embraceable You.
The show will run at the Palace Theatre from October 6 to October 10 and people can reserve tickets by calling the advance ticket line 01789 763446.
