BROMSGROVE Rovers boss John Snape admits he is looking for more firepower to add some cutting edge to his squad.
Snape was fairly happy with a point in the opening game, a 0-0 draw at home to fancied Chesham United, but admitted he would like to bring in another forward.
He said: “It was a good, workmanlike performance in a game either side could have won, but my job is to make sure we do win those games and and to do that we need to score.
“I think our best chances came from Danny Campbell and Cameron Jones and if we could add another striker to the squad I think it would improve it.”
One player who was set to start at Bedworth last night (Tuesday) was 17-year-old reserve striker Omar Spence.
Spence has impressed in the reserves in pre-season and Snape said he was going to throw him in because he deserved his chance.
He said: “It is a big step up for him but I think he is ready and I think he will do well.
“We have to look to these players to move up because if they are already at the club and good enough, then it is the obvious solution.”
Dexter Ravenhill was also set to start at Bedworth despite being taken off against Chesham when he had what Snape called a ‘stinker’.
Former Green Rapinder Gill came on as a substitute against Chesham.
In the FA Cup preliminary round, Bromsgrove will travel to West Midlands Premier side Dudley Town after they disposed of Walsall Wood.
The game will take place on Saturday August 29.
